People who have gastrointestinal diseases should know about the symptoms of stomach and intestinal cancer. The oncologist noted that gastrointestinal oncology has a number of specific symptoms, such as indigestion, intestinal obstruction, nausea and vomiting.
The doctor explained that the first symptom of esophageal cancer is dysphagia – difficulty passing food. Then nausea and vomiting appear immediately after eating, and a few hours after lunch, an inexplicable stomach pain occurs.
Colon cancer has other signs. Among them are intestinal obstruction, intoxication and even bleeding. A tumor in the liver provokes jaundice, as the tumor begins to compress the bile ducts.
The doctor added that before patients see a doctor, they emphasize the so-called “small signs” characteristic of oncogenic processes in the body. These are sudden weight loss, constant weakness, apathy, loss of appetite and fatigue. Even if such symptoms are present, a doctor's consultation is required.
“Of course, these symptoms are nonspecific and may simply be autumn boredom, but it's better to be safe,” the oncologist emphasized.
For example, fatigue, forgetfulness, and loss of strength may signal a deficiency of vitamin B6 in the body. This component is involved in the prevention of depression, urolithiasis, asthma, and other diseases.
