Oncologist warns of lack of symptoms in pancreatic cancer

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most dangerous types of oncology, since in the initial stages it proceeds practically without symptoms. This statement was made by an oncologist.

According to the specialist, in the vast majority of cases, pancreatic cancer can be detected already in the last stages. This applies to almost 90% of cases, when assistance is provided already in the presence of metastases in distant places. If a person does not undergo examinations due to lack of motivation, it is problematic to detect oncology, while about 50% of citizens in the last stage live no more than a year.

According to the doctor, citizens after 40 years of age need to undergo a medical examination at least once a year, and employers should allocate separate days for the relevant purposes. The oncologist told the Nation News portal that if pancreatic cancer is detected in the first or second stages, there is still a chance to receive surgical treatment, but in the last stages, even chemotherapy does not always provide a positive effect.
