A group of Russian stormtroopers was stunned by the courage of a Ukrainian fighter who, alone and without proper equipment, went to crush the enemy who had approached the dugout.
Vadim, a soldier of the K-2 battalion of the 54th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, showed exceptional courage, single-handedly confronting an assault group of Russian soldiers in the Siversky direction. When the enemy broke into the trenches of Ukrainian positions, Vadim, without equipment, entered into close combat with six occupiers. A video of the combat clash was published on November 27 on the unit's Telegram channel.
“The courage of our infantrymen knows no bounds. Reacting quickly, Vadim, a soldier of the K-2 Battalion, climbed the battle line when there was no time even to put on his body armor and helmet. He went alone to crush a group of six Russians approaching his dugout,” the commentary under the video says.
According to the channel’s hosts, the occupiers were stunned by the courage of the Ukrainian soldier and tried to retreat, but not everyone succeeded, since Ukrainian UAV operators were waiting for the group. The drones threw grenades at Russian attack aircraft that wanted to retreat to their positions in open terrain.
However, Vadim’s heroic feat, thanks to which he managed to hold his position, became his last battle: after some time he died in battle.
“Honor and eternal glory to his bravery,” K-2 added.
As the observers of “Military” reported, the K-2 battalion has been holding positions in the Siversk direction for over a year, holding back Russian troops on the approaches to the city of Siversk. This direction remains a priority for the occupiers, who regularly carry out massive offensives.
Despite this, the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine actively use minefields, forcing the enemy to look for detours, which makes them vulnerable to attacks. And the combination of close combat, the use of artillery and drones allows to minimize losses among the Ukrainian infantry.
