Onion sauce that goes well with everything: meat, fish and even pasta

Onion sauce is the perfect addition to any meat dish. But the best thing about it is that it does not require any expensive ingredient for its preparation. Having made the sauce once, you can freeze it and keep it in the freezer for several weeks without losing its taste, bringing it to the table as needed. Very convenient for barbecues on weekends in the country.

Preparation:

Put 3 large onions in a heat-resistant pan and generously pour olive oil.

Put the pan in a heated to 200 degree oven. Bake the onions for about 45 minutes, until they are very soft and darken.

Allow the onions to cool. Place on a cutting board and peel.

Put the onion in a blender and blend until smooth, 3 to 5 minutes. To taste, add a little salt, lemon juice and olive oil, mix for 20-30 seconds. Adjust seasonings to your taste, if necessary.

You can store the sauce in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or up to two weeks in the freezer. In any case, before adding it to the dish, the sauce should be mixed in a blender for 20-30 seconds so that the mass becomes “fluffy”.
