Pain and inflammation in the joints can be provoked by healthy foods

In some cases, inflammation and joint pain commonly seen with arthritis can be triggered even by healthy foods.

Arthritis is the cause of most joint pain complaints worldwide. Such pain, as a rule, indicates an exacerbation of this incurable disease, in which inflammatory processes are activated. Over time, the pain becomes debilitating, which can ultimately limit movement and generally endanger a person's mobility.

What can provoke an acute inflammatory reaction, as a result of which the joints begin to swell, hurt and move poorly? Doctors warn that some food products, including everyday and healthy ones, can be its trigger – their consumption can stimulate the body's immune system, and as a corresponding reaction, compounds that cause inflammation are released into the blood. In addition, “certain foods can affect the bacteria that live in the intestines, and thereby contribute to the inflammation characteristic of arthritis.”

Foods. Vegetable oils – corn, safflower, sunflower – may be responsible for the exacerbation of the inflammatory process and joint pain.

Another possible cause of swollen and painful joints is an excess of saturated fats, which are also contained in healthy foods (there are many of them in red meat, fatty dairy products, butter, poultry skin).

In order to prevent inflammation and its adverse consequences, experts advise to eat more natural unprocessed products containing vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-3.
