The therapist called hypertension among diseases that cause diabetes.
The therapist reminded in the interview that the development of diabetes occurs in close connection with the disturbance of metabolic processes in the body: for example, carbohydrate or fat metabolism is disturbed. As a result, the level of sugar in the blood increases, and the body does not have enough resources to cope with a deviation that is dangerous for it. In particular, this happens when the body stops responding normally to insulin and insulin resistance develops.
The doctor emphasized that insulin resistance can arise as an age-related problem.
“In adulthood, the pancreas continues to produce the necessary hormone (insulin), but it does not work,” the doctor shared.
The doctor also drew attention to the fact that people can be predisposed to the disease diabetes, they have chronic pathologies. For example, people with hypertension are often prone to diabetes.
“There are a number of diseases that become the basis for the onset of diabetes – these are hypertension, endocrine pathologies, polycystic ovary syndrome in women, diseases of the pancreas, viral infections such as rubella, chicken pox and even flu,” the therapist listed.
The doctor added that in the presence of obesity or in that case, when a person is often stressed, the risk of becoming a diabetic also becomes particularly high.
