Pickled cucumber can become a “medicine” for headaches

For headaches, caused by sudden hypotension, a pickle helps to improve well-being, the nutritionist reported.
In an interview with a doctor, the opinion was expressed that food products can be both “medicine” for a headache and its trigger. In particular, wine, cheese, chocolate, smoked meats or foods with sodium nitrite are potential pain triggers. The unpleasant sensation is explained by how these products affect blood vessels.
“Headaches can be associated with narrowing or dilation of blood vessels – blood does not normally reach the brain in both cases,” said the doctor.
The doctor added that the same product can have different effects depending on the state of a person's blood vessels or existing chronic vascular pathologies. For example, a pickle can become a “headache medicine:”
“If the head hurts due to low pressure, a pickle can help relieve the pain.”
At the same time, with existing hypertension this product may not help at best.
