This is tea. In the study, a group of scientists from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences analyzed data from 100,000 people who had no history of heart attack, cancer or stroke. They were then classified as regular tea drinkers (at least three times a week) and irregular tea drinkers.
The average follow-up period was 7.3 years. The results showed that those who drank tea regularly had a 20 percent lower risk of heart disease and stroke, and a 22 percent lower risk of fatal heart disease and stroke.
The researchers then analyzed a subset of 14,000 people for using two surveys conducted at different points in time over a period of approximately eight years. The results showed that participants who maintained a habit of drinking tea throughout the study experienced even more significant health benefits compared to those who did not drink tea regularly, including a 39 percent lower risk of incident heart disease and stroke, a deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke were 56 percent lower, and the reduction in risk of death from any cause was 29 percent lower.
