Pork ribs in onion sauce that you can “eat with your lips”

Delight yourself and your guests with caramelized pork ribs in onion sauce. Caramelized onions are combined with barbecue sauce. Oven-baked ribs are tender, flavorful, literally melting in your mouth – a real meat delicacy!
Ingredients
- Pork ribs – 1.5 kg
- Onion – 500 g
- Garlic – 6 cloves 60 g
- Water – 400 ml
- Soy sauce – 60 ml
- Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp.
- Apple cider vinegar – 2 tbsp.
- Tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
- Wheat flour – 1 tbsp.
- Mustard – 1 tbsp.
- Dried thyme – ½ tsp.
- Dried oregano – 1/2 tsp.
- Sugar – 1 tbsp.
- Red chili flakes – to taste
- Ground black pepper – 1 tsp.
- Salt – 1 tsp.
How to cook:
- Peel the onion and cut into half rings, chop the garlic cloves.
Add 3 tbsp. of vegetable oil to a heated frying pan and fry the onion for 5-7 minutes over medium heat until lightly caramelized. - Then add the garlic, salt, ground black pepper, chili flakes, dried thyme and oregano to the frying pan. Stir and cook over medium heat for 1 minute.
- Add the wheat flour to the frying pan and fry for 1 minute, stirring.
- Then add the mustard and tomato paste, fry for another 1 minute, stirring.
- Then add soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, water and sugar. Stir, bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Place 2 layers of foil on a sheet, 2 layers of baking paper on the foil, place the washed and dried pork ribs with a paper towel or napkin in the center. Remove the film from the inside of the ribs. Pour the prepared sauce over the ribs moderately. Leave 1/5 of the sauce for the final glaze.
- Carefully wrap the pork ribs in the sauce in paper and foil, making an envelope.
Send the ribs to the oven preheated to 170 ° C and bake for 1 hour 30 minutes. - After 1 hour 30 minutes, remove the sheet from the oven, carefully unfold the foil and paper and brush the remaining sauce over the pork ribs. Leave the ribs open and send them back to the oven for 20 minutes. Bake at a temperature of 180 ° C.
- Remove the finished ribs from the oven and leave to cool slightly, for 10-15 minutes.
Serve the pork ribs baked in the oven hot with fresh vegetables, rice, French fries or mashed potatoes.
