Nutritionists talked about cereals that are not as healthy as people think.
Everyone knows that cereals are very healthy. But this is a stereotype. Not all cereals are exceptionally healthy, and some can even be harmful.
For example, semolina porridge. One of the most popular, it is given almost every day in kindergarten. Yes, it is a very high-calorie and nutritious dish, but there is no particular benefit in it. Semolina porridge consists mainly of starch and is contraindicated for overweight people and diabetics. Some experts believe that it is more harmful than useful for children. It contains a complex mucopolysaccharide that the child's body is unable to break down. As a result, the risk of constipation increases. Semolina has practically no vitamins, and the amino acid composition is unbalanced.
Dietitians are also wary of rice porridge. It is prepared from polished grain, which is low in vitamins, fiber, and beneficial trace elements. Rice porridge is contraindicated for people suffering from colitis, hypertension, atherosclerosis, constipation, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
Nutritionists also have questions about millet porridge. Everyone agrees that it is not as useless and not as harmful as semolina, but it also does not have much benefit. With the exception of biotin, which strengthens hair and nails. Otherwise, the composition of the porridge is quite poor. In addition, it is worth remembering that cereals contain a lot of gluten, which can lead to digestive disorders.
