It seems a little weird to repeat this to your body in the morning.

The doctor added that those who snooze are unlikely to enter a state of restorative sleep after their first alarm goes off, so hitting the snooze button can be counterproductive. Short consecutive periods of sleep can leave the body sluggish, but the complications don't end there.

Every night, the body must go through four stages of sleep. In nine minutes, the alarm goes off again. Having to wake the body up suddenly from sleep can stress the body. Cortisol is naturally produced when you wake up, but hitting the snooze button can cause an excess of the stress hormone. If high cortisol levels become chronic, it can set the stage for several diseases.
