Psychologists from Imperial College London conducted a study, after which they made a new discovery. They found that personality traits can negatively affect memory.
For this, volunteers under the age of 55 were invited, who, in addition to questionnaires, took tests to assess memory. After studying the results, psychologists noticed that character traits are interconnected with people's cognitive abilities.
In all groups, extroverts coped best with the tasks, but people who complained of anxiety, pessimism and preferred to lead a closed lifestyle were the worst.
Psychologists said that these people often have stress, which is why they have memory problems. They recommend that this category contact people more often, as well as lead an active lifestyle, participating in various activities.
