Sports psychologist Amy Leighton, representing Columbia University, told what is accompanied by a sedentary lifestyle. The doctor gave recommendations that will avoid negative consequences.
Low level of physical activity leads to even greater fatigue and provokes asthenia. The more a person sits, the more tired he will feel. Experiments by scientists have shown that moderate physical activity three times a week for twenty minutes effectively increases the energy level.
A sedentary lifestyle leads to forgetfulness, because brain activity, like muscles, requires physical activity. Sitting for several hours will result in a thinner medial temporal lobe, which is precisely responsible for memory. Amy Leighton warns that inactivity can cause memory lapses.
According to a sports psychologist, a sedentary lifestyle leads to bad mood. Body movement is associated with the release of the hormone of joy. For this reason, people with such habits have underestimated parameters of psychological well-being.
