“Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoid pigments that give products their yellow or orange color. In addition to carotene and vitamins, pumpkin contains iron and folic acid, which strengthen the immune system and accelerate the wound healing process,” the ophthalmologist added.
He also noted that pumpkin is rich in fiber and potassium, which help reduce blood pressure and contribute to weight loss.
