Quality of vision: which will help the eyes get less tired during work

When working for a long time with paper documents, and even more so at the computer, the eyes are exposed to increased strain. As a result, visual strain occurs. To avoid this, it is necessary to take a number of measures that will help the eyes to tire less.
“When we look at something close-up, such as a computer screen, the lens of the eye naturally contracts. If this happens for a long time, it can lead to eye fatigue,” explains Esen Karamursel Akpek, MD, ophthalmologist at the Wilmer Eye Institute. Experts give a number of recommendations.
What to do to make your eyes less tired
Schedule periodic work breaks to avoid eye strain. When reading, working with documents or using the computer, use the 20-20-20 rule. This means that every 20 minutes you need to look at an object at a distance of at least 20 feet (a little more than six meters) for at least 20 seconds, advise experts at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center.
Make sure your eyes are always moist. To do this, blink more often or, if necessary, use artificial tear drops.
The digital screen should be located a little further than an ordinary book and other reading materials not from the monitor. It should be at eye level or slightly lower.
Gadget screens should be clean and dust-free. Make sure that the brightness of the display corresponds to the lighting around you.
Minimize light reflections and glare. This can be achieved with the help of special protective films for the screen or anti-glare glasses.
Talk to an ophthalmologist or optometrist. Some people who do not need glasses in normal life may need corrective lenses for computer work (especially after the age of 35).
