Recipe for delicious pumpkin dumplings

Want to try something new and truly autumnal? Pumpkin dumplings are a tender and aromatic dish that will surprise you not only with its bright color, but also with its rich taste.
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of water
- A pinch of salt
For the filling:
- 400 g of pumpkin
- 2 tbsp. sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp. butter
- A pinch of cinnamon or vanilla (optional)
Mix the flour, salt and egg, gradually adding water. Knead until the dough becomes elastic and soft. Let it “rest” for 15-20 minutes, covered with a towel to make it easier to roll out.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Peel the pumpkin and cut it into small cubes. Simmer the pumpkin in a saucepan with butter until soft. When the pumpkin is ready, mash it and add sugar and cinnamon for extra flavor. The filling should be cooled before wrapping it in the dumplings.
Roll out the dough into a thin layer, cut out circles, put a spoonful of pumpkin filling on each and pinch the edges. Cook the dumplings in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes after they float to the surface.
