Reduces the risk of heart disease: scientists have called the product useful for health
0 < p>It is possible to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases by giving up bad habits, playing sports, regular visits to doctors, as well as including certain products in the diet. One such food is avocado, scientists are convinced.
Avocado is full of vitamins and nutrients closely related to heart health. One long-term study showed that eating at least two servings of this product per week was associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
More than 110,000 people between the ages of 30 and 75 participated in the study. They were free of heart disease and cancer at the time of the study. The researchers assessed the participants' diets using questionnaires given at the start of the study and every four years thereafter. They were asked how much and how often they ate avocados. A portion was considered to be half an avocado or half a cup, cut into cubes.
Over 30 years of observation, the researchers recorded more than 9,000 heart attacks and almost 5,300 strokes in the participants. Compared to people who never or rarely ate avocados, those who ate at least two servings a week had a 16% lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a 16% lower risk of a heart attack or related problems due to coronary heart disease – By 21%. Thus, scientists concluded that replacing more harmful fatty foods with avocados can preserve heart health.
