A large study looked at the long-term effects of sugary drinks, which followed nearly 120,000 health care workers in the U.S. over 30 years. They found that the fewer sugary drinks people consumed, the less likely they were to die prematurely from all causes.

But the doctor warned that “we eat twice as much on average,” which is not good news for our bodies.
