Remontant raspberries do not have time to ripen before the cold weather: what to do with the berries
0
The peculiarity of remontant varieties is that they can bear fruit and delight with berries until the very cold and even the first frosts. But due to the cold weather, part of the harvest may not have time to reach. No matter how cold-resistant the culture is, berries need sun and positive temperatures.
What to do with raspberries
If there is still some time in the forecast, but you know that cold weather is coming, feed raspberries with potassium. This element will help speed up the ripening of the berries.
How to feed the bushes
There are three options to choose from. If you have good quality ash, great. Use it in the proportion of 1 cup per 10 liters of water. Calimagnesia or potassium sulfate are also suitable for feeding bushes. Use in the same proportion of 20 g per 10 liters of water.
If there are a lot of berries, and frost is on the way, then do a radical method. No one will say that it is very convenient, but you can try. Summer residents cut branches with berries and bring them indoors. They are placed in a container with water and sugar in the proportion of 1 tsp. per 1 liter of water. This will accelerate ripening, so valuable berries will not be lost.
