Health experts I advise people with high blood pressure to eat a diet with walnuts. They contain healthy fats, magnesium and fiber, which will help normalize blood pressure.
High blood pressure is a common disease in which the blood puts too much pressure on the walls of the arteries. This causes the arteries to harden and narrow, forcing the heart to work harder to pump blood around the body. The risk of heart attack, stroke, rupture of the aorta increases.
However, moderate snacking on walnuts can help reduce these risks because they contain alpha-linolenic acid. Scientists have found that such a diet has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, people's heart rhythm improves.
Experts have suggested that walnuts and walnut oil can help lower cholesterol, improve heart health, increase male fertility, improve brain function and even prevent cancer.
A study found that when adults ate about half a cup of walnuts daily for four months, they had improved blood flow and lower blood pressure.
Penny Chris-Etherton, professor emeritus of nutrition at Penn State, explained that because walnuts lowered blood pressure, the risk of cardiovascular disease also decreased.
It is emphasized that the study took participation of 45 people. Larger studies will be needed to confirm the findings.
