Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory a disease that affects the joints. It worsens the quality of life, as it causes painful sensations and reduces a person's mobility. Scientists claim that certain foods and drinks will help reduce inflammation and ease the symptoms of arthritis.
Some of these foods can be included in your morning diet. They fight inflammation and are great for a tasty and healthy breakfast. According to experts, the following will help relieve the symptoms of arthritis:
- barley porridge;
- wheat porridge;
- nuts (peanuts, almonds);
- fruits and berries (mango, cherry, watermelon, grapes).
Arthritis Today magazine also published some breakfast tips for people with arthritis. Experts recommend:
- choose whole grain products (flakes, cereals, bread) with high fiber content (at least 3-5 g per serving) and low sugar and salt content;
- stop the choice on oatmeal, which should be cooked, and not on instant oatmeal;
- monitor the fat content in products;
- do not add sugar to tea or coffee – it is better instead add cinnamon, rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, to the drink.
