The American Heart Association published a study that links black coffee with a long-term reduction in the risk of developing heart failure. After studying data on the health and lifestyle of 21,000 Americans for 72 years, scientists came to the conclusion that people who drank two or more cups of black coffee a day were 30% less likely to suffer from this disease.
Experts emphasized that decaffeinated coffee did not have such advantages. In fact, research has shown the opposite: the drink increases the chances of developing heart problems.
According to nutritionists, caffeinated black coffee is the most beneficial way to lift your mood. As Sharon Katzman, MD, explained, the more additives there are in a drink, the less useful it becomes. In particular, she does not recommend adding a lot of sugar and milk.
In order to brew healthy coffee, experts recommend using only filtered water. In addition, it is better to buy freshly ground coffee and avoid the product offered by supermarkets, as it can be stored on their shelves for too long.
