Scientists have determined the most effective way to get rid of belly fat

On According to scientists, reducing the amount of carbohydrates consumed is the most effective way to get rid of belly fat, including visceral fat. The growth of visceral fat, which grows near the internal organs, is especially dangerous. As the belly increases, the risk of developing inflammation, which can become a trigger for metabolic disorders, diabetes, and heart disease, increases sharply.

What helps get rid of belly fat?

Referring to the results of a number of studies, the Express publication writes that scientists have identified the most effective method – minimizing the amount of carbohydrates in the diet.

“More than 20 studies have shown that low-carbohydrate diets contribute to weight loss, including reducing fat mass on the stomach, two to three times more effective than low-fat diets”.

A low-carb diet is also effective when it comes to fighting visceral fat, according to a study published by the US National Library of Medicine. Reducing the amount of carbohydrates eaten has a beneficial effect on body composition, fat distribution and glucose metabolism, due to which more intra-abdominal adipose tissue was lost, scientists state.

What happens when you give them up? Scientists explain that in conditions of a minimal amount of carbohydrates, the body begins to produce ketones to maintain energy – substances synthesized by the liver from fatty acids. This process of producing ketones is called ketosis. In fact, it means that the body, without receiving carbohydrate nourishment, begins to use its own fat in order to function normally.

“When you give up refined carbohydrates, such as white bread, rice, bagels, pasta, cookies or candy, your liver is essentially burning your own fat to produce ketones. This effectively helps to get rid of visceral fat and reduces the risk of serious health complications,” scientists postulate.
