Scientists have found a new damage caused by alcohol. Inflammatory processes are launched, irreversible changes occur. A new research on this topic was conducted by an international group of scientists with the participation of specialists at the Central Mental Health Institute in Mannheim. Observations were performed for 91 patients, they all have a persistent alcohol addiction. Also, 36 people who were not observed were involved in the experiments. A change in the microstructure of the white matter of the brain was revealed, and this process was activated during withdrawal syndrome. Scientists have concluded that alcohol abuse affects the organ and has a very negative impact on health.
