The presence of red meat in the diet can have a negative effect on the life expectancy of men. The relevant conclusions were drawn by scientists from the USA based on the results of the conducted research.
In the course of their work, its authors studied data on the health status of more than 43,000 men. The average age of the latter was within 53 years. At the time of the start of the study, the participants did not have any serious diseases of the cardiovascular system or oncology.
However, the observations showed that men who often include red meat in their diet have a greater risk of encountering ailments affecting blood vessels and the heart .
Abandoning the product can have a positive effect on life expectancy, researchers believe. In addition, it will be more useful to include whole grain products in the daily menu.
