Scientists have found out how sauna affects blood pressure

Scientists from the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, conducted research on how the sauna affects blood pressure. As it turned out, the blood pressure level first rises and then falls.

Sports doctors involved 19 volunteers in the study, who had to stay in the sauna for 25 minutes. The participants in the experiment had their blood pressure and pulse measured during and after the session.

The results showed that the blood pressure level increased directly during the visit to the specified place. It was also noted that after some time the indicators fell and became even lower than the initial value.

“There is a big difference between the effect of the sauna and the effect in the rest phase: first the blood pressure increases, then it drops below the baseline. We came to the conclusion that anyone can visit this place, since moderate physical activity is tolerated without symptoms. However, people with low blood pressure should be a little more careful,” the scientists noted.
