Scientists have named goji berries as a means of preventing vision loss in the elderly. Taking the drug increases the density of protective eye pigments.
The experiment involved 13 people aged 45-65. They ate about 30 g of goji berries for three months.
Before and after the experiment, the researchers measured the density of protective eye pigments in the participants. At the second measurement, the scientists saw an increase in the indicator.
Then they recruited another group of 14 people of the same age. They took medical dietary supplements for eye health for three months. There were no changes in this group.
