Basil is such a product, according to their conclusion. The fact is that it contains fennel, a compound that helps reduce the level of neurotoxicity in the brain. Moreover, it is this substance that gives the herb its familiar bright smell.
The authors of the paper found out that by influencing the intestinal microbiome, fennel stimulates a certain receptor and, thus, prevents the accumulation of toxic compounds in the brain.< /p>
