Migraine is a chronic disease, which is manifested by periodic attacks of severe, often unilateral headache. Scientists from Brazil found out that some fruits and berries can provoke migraines.
According to information, this happens due to their effect on the nervous system, the expansion of blood vessels and, therefore, on blood pressure, as well as on sugar metabolism in the brain.
In general, specialists studied the data of almost 4,000 patients with migraines and about 1,100 patients suffering from headaches. In 40.3% of study participants, migraines began within 8-90 minutes after eating certain fruits and berries.
The list included:
- watermelon (caused migraines in 29.5 % of patients);
- passion fruit (3.73%);
- orange (2.01%);
- pineapple (1.52%);< /li>
- grapes (0.51%);
- banana (0.46%);
- papaya (0.25%).
It is noted that after using these products, migraines started only in those participants of the study who had previously suffered from attacks of this disease. And in patients who complain of an ordinary headache, such a reaction was not detected.
