The quality of nutrition and physical activity are equally important for longevity. However, if a lot is known about the correct diet, the question of the necessary exercises and their amount per week is not sufficiently studied. Scientists decided to fill this gap.
In particular, they conducted a study to find out what kind of physical activity improves health and how much time should be spent on it. The scientists analyzed the data of 650,000 people over the age of 40.
All of them were included in one Swedish and five American studies aimed at identifying the relationship between sports and longevity.
Results showed that longer training sessions have the most positive effect on the human body, writes Express. At the same time, it is not so important what sport a person chooses.
The main requirement is to exercise at least 150 minutes a week. It is also useful to walk faster in everyday life. According to scientists, this can increase life expectancy by 3.4-4.5 years.
