American scientists have presented the most dangerous food groups for health. Processed meat is at the top of this list.
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association examined the link between lifestyle and premature death. As the scientific work showed, most of the deaths were associated with diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular diseases.
In addition to insufficient consumption of seafood, nuts and seeds rich in Omega-3, two factors stood out, which are associated with the consumption of too much salt and processed meat. The latter includes sausages, hot dogs, corned beef, dried beef, canned meat and sauces, bacon.
“When planning your diet, remember that a healthy diet is directly related to longevity. Eating enough grains, vegetables, fruits and seeds is of paramount importance in this regard. To minimize the risk of premature death, we recommend that you give up salty and processed foods,” the scientists concluded.
