Scientists have told what gray hair depends on

Aging is an inevitable biological process that affects all body systems , including on the hair. However, some people go gray faster than others. Heredity may be the reason.
A new study describes the unique characteristics of hair aging in different ethnic groups, which the authors hope will inform a culturally sensitive approach to making recommendations to prevent lifelong hair damage.< /p>
The onset of gray hair varies by race: the average age for Europeans is in the mid-30s, for Asians in the late 30s, and for Africans in the mid-40s. Europeans and Asians typically experience damage to the distal hair shaft, while African Americans see damage closer to the hair root. Postmenopausal changes include a decrease in the number of hairs in the anagen phase (active or growing) on the frontal part of the skull, a decrease in the rate of growth and a decrease in the diameter of the hair.
Similar to the skin, the aging of hair involves both internal – natural physiological changes, that occur over time, as well as external ones – caused by the influence of the environment and physical stress during daily care.
