Rice is one of the most common foods in the diet of most of the world's population, but despite this, scientists warn about its possible deadly danger to the body and life. Craving for rice can cause premature death, writes Science Dail, citing research from the University of Manchester.
English scientists have warned of the deadly danger of rice due to the arsenic it contains. Its long-term consumption, even in small amounts, may be a factor in tens of thousands of preventable deaths annually, they say.
This chemical element penetrates rice grains from the soil, from where it is absorbed by the roots. According to scientists, it can affect the occurrence of oncological and cardiovascular diseases. 25% of rice consumers in the UK may be at greater risk – this was announced by Professor David Pole of the University of Manchester.
“Given that more than 3 billion people in the world use rice as a staple food, it contains mice “how can it be considered the cause of more than 50,000 premature deaths annually”, – warned the authors of the project.
At the same time, they clarified that the deadly danger of rice is primarily related to its quantity. They urge not to give it up completely due to its inherent useful properties and high fiber content – but eat it moderately and follow a generally varied diet. Experts also noted that whole-grain rice usually has more inorganic arsenic than processed.
