Scientists: money ensures longevity
Capital accumulated before middle age can be the key to a long life. Scientists at Northwestern University conducted the first study of the relationship between wealth and longevity that included data on siblings, including twins.
The scientists analyzed the net assets of adults with an average age of 46, 7 years old Mortality rates were recorded after 24 years. Researchers found that accumulating more capital before middle age extends life.
The sample included 5,400 adults (2,400 relatives). Mortality among unrelated participants was lower with large accumulations.
However, the same trend persisted for siblings and Twins. This confirms that there is a link between wealth and longevity, and not all are ruled by heredity or family history.
