A group of scientists from Tulane University found that climbing 50 steps daily reduces the risk of developing heart and vascular diseases by 20 percent.
According to the authors of the work, during the study they used data from 450 thousand citizens, which they took from the British Biological Bank. The experiment lasted almost 13 years. During this time, experts calculated people's susceptibility to heart disease. They used family medical histories and studied the participants' lifestyles.
It was found that citizens who climb stairs every day are less likely to develop heart and vascular diseases.
