But scientists also discovered another risk factor, and a very unexpected one: a Johns Hopkins University study showed that the risk of developing bowel cancer may depend on a person's height: “taller people have an increased risk of developing bowel cancer”.

As a result of a meta-analysis, scientists found that tall people are more likely to suffer from colon polyps, which can later become malignant – the so-called adenoma. According to the scientists, one of the possible reasons for this is that tall height correlates with the size of the organs of the human body. malignant transformation,” the researchers note.

High height is how much? Scientists believe that the risk of developing bowel cancer is increased for men taller than 185 cm and women taller than 172 see.
