“Secrets” of freezing broccoli for the winter

If you grow broccoli on your own plot, you probably know that freshly cut cobs do not last long. In order not to lose a rich harvest, but also to stock up on useful vegetables for the long winter months, it should be frozen.

Cobs should be cut in the garden early in the morning or late in the evening. Those from cabbage heads that have grown well and have a rich color are suitable for freezing.
Experienced gardeners assure that the diameter of the head should be up to 17 cm. Such requirements are due to the fact that in an untimely cut head, the its strength and taste.
Also, make sure that the cabbage florets have an even color without spots. Do not use broccoli with opened buds – in this case, all useful substances are lost.
To preserve the maximum of useful substances in broccoli, try freezing cabbage in half-boiled form.
To do this, wash the vegetable, after why boil the inflorescences in salted water. 5 minutes after boiling, the water should be drained, and the cabbage should be placed in containers and sent to the shelf of the freezer.
