Security measures will be strengthened in Kyiv on Easter, citizens are asked not to go to church if possible
In Kyiv on Easter, which falls on May 5 , will strengthen security measures. At the same time, citizens and guests of the capital are asked, if possible, not to go to churches and to avoid large gatherings of people.
To maintain law and order in Kyiv, representatives of the National Police of Ukraine and employees of the capital's municipal security will be involved.
“They will patrol places of religious services and gatherings of believers – churches, cathedrals and the National Reserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” in order to prevent provocations,” the message says.
It is also noted that law enforcement officers will be on duty near the churches, which will help evacuate believers and clergy to the nearest shelters in the event of an air alert.
In addition, special temporary monitoring centers will operate, which will promptly monitor the situation in Kyiv in order to prevent crimes.
KMVA reported that the Easter curfew will remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00.
“Dear residents of Kyiv and guests of the city, if possible, watch the service online – on TV or via YouTube or Facebook. If you still decide to go to the temple, take care of your safety! Try to avoid large gatherings of people,” the department informed.
The KMVA reminded that no one is removing the threat of provocations or rocket attacks on Easter.
“Follow the safety rules. Remember the air raid signals. When the announcement is made, go to the nearest shelter,” the message reads.
