What happened on September 26?
Today the Orthodox Church honors the memory of John the Theologian . John was an apostle and evangelist, one of the closest disciples of Jesus Christ, and the author of the fourth Gospel. He was also present at such sacred events as the Last Supper, Transfiguration, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. He preached the Gospel in Asia Minor and suffered persecution and torment for his faith.
What not to do on September 26:
- drink alcohol;
- wear old shoes;
- kill insects.
