Serious signs that the level of cholesterol in the legs has become “fatal”

The expert shared the “serious” symptoms that can signal that that cholesterol levels have become 'deadly'.
According to the NHS, high cholesterol levels are considered a harbinger of serious health problems.
Dr Rodney Fowle said:
If left untreated, high cholesterol can eventually lead to atherosclerosis. Arteries become blocked by fatty substances called plaques, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes.”
This process, which leads to blocked arteries, can sometimes lead to “serious and often fatal problems,” including critical ischemia limbs This potentially “fatal” condition can draw attention to the main problem – high blood cholesterol.
“Critical limb ischemia occurs when blood flow to the legs becomes severely restricted.”
However, this does not occur without symptoms. Because this condition is caused by reduced blood flow to the legs, it is in this area that symptoms can be found.
Dr. Fowle listed the symptoms of critical limb ischemia:
- Severe burning pain in the legs and feet , which continues even when you are resting
- Your skin becomes pale, shiny, smooth and dry.
- Unhealed sores and ulcers (open sores) on your feet and lower legs.
- The skin on the toes or lower limbs becomes cold and numb, red and then black and/or begins to swell and secrete foul-smelling pus, causing severe pain (gangrene)< /li>

“Usually angioplasty or bypass surgery is recommended, but in some cases below-the-knee amputation may be necessary. If you think you are developing symptoms of critical limb ischemia, you should see your doctor urgently for a diagnosis.”
