Seven “healthy” foods that are actually worse than candy

Today, many products on store shelves are positioned as healthy. But in reality, everything is not so simple. Sometimes they can be more harmful than candy and other sweets.
We all know that candy is bad for your teeth and health in general. This was confirmed by nutritionist Trista Best. If you eat too much sugar, you will gain weight, develop cavities, and you risk getting diabetes and heart disease.
But there are foods that are considered “healthy” but are quite harmful to the body. Here is their list.
Dried fruits. They often contain a lot of sugar and calories. They are also quite small in size, so it is very easy to eat more than you need. Instead of dried fruits, choose fresh fruits.
Muesli. It can be too much harmful fats and sugar. Therefore, if you still want to have such a product for breakfast, choose a low-sugar option that consists of healthy fats and whole grains.
Energy bars. The downside of these bars is the huge amount of fat and carbohydrates in them. Choose such bars if they contain little sugar and are made from whole grains.
Grain bars. MIDSS certified dietitian and Master of Public Health Olena Wheeler says that many of these bars have more sugar than chocolate bars. And they have just as little fiber.
Frozen yogurt. Many varieties of these products contain more sugar than regular ice cream and regular candy.
Canned soup. It contains a lot of sodium, little fiber or protein (or none at all). All of this increases the risk of obesity and insulin resistance.
Low-fat salad dressing. Usually the main ingredient in such dressings is butter. They also contain a lot of omega-6 fatty acids (which lead to inflammation) and sugar.
