Seven signs of a sudden stroke: how to recognize and prevent
How to recognize the signs of an impending stroke, a cardiologist and therapist told.
Hypertension. According to according to medicine, a healthy person's blood pressure should be within the range of 120/80. If these numbers increase, hypertension begins. The doctor emphasizes that people with high blood pressure are at risk.
– The problem worsens when hypertension becomes persistent and the tonometer readings exceed 140/90, says the therapist.
Too much thick blood. With increased blood viscosity, the risk of blood clots increases, which multiplies the probability of an ischemic stroke — a blood clot clogs an artery in the brain, blocking blood circulation.
Elevated cholesterol. In this case, the vessels narrow, their patency decreases, and the risk of thrombosis increases.
Arrhythmia. Changes in heart rhythm negatively affect the entire cardiovascular system system.
Numbness of hands and feet. This also includes tingling and “long-term tingling”. This indicates poor blood circulation and in most cases is associated with a less active lifestyle.
Cervical osteochondrosis.
– The pathology itself is not a direct precursor stroke, but significantly increases the probability of its occurrence with age. With cervical osteochondrosis, the cervical arteries are compressed, as a result of which the blood circulation in the head worsens, the doctor emphasizes.
Apnoea (stopping of breathing during sleep). There is no direct connection between apnea and stroke, however this pathology can lead to arrhythmia and hypertension.
The doctor noted that when these symptoms appear, you should immediately consult a doctor for examination.
