“Shells” cakes according to grandmother's recipe

These cookies are impossible to refuse. This is something very light, airy, incredible. The recipe is old and once well known. It's time to restore delicious traditions. Some call these cakes shells, others angel wings, in any case they are incredible.

Ingredients

The following products are needed for preparation:

  • butter – 200 g;
  • eggs – 3 pcs.;
  • sugar – 1 glass. ;
  • sour cream – 100 g;
  • salt – a pinch.

How cook

Grate the butter into crumbs. Mix with 2 cups of flour. To make the butter easier to grind into crumbs, you can freeze it a little.

Mix three egg yolks and 100 g of sour cream. Add a pinch of salt and mix with the flour mixture. Now you can knead the dough.

Make walnut-sized balls from the dough. Put in the refrigerator for several hours. While the dough is cooling, you need to process the egg whites.

Whisk 3 egg whites together with sugar until thick peaks. Take a few balls out of the fridge and roll very thinly. Put a teaspoon of egg whites (filling) and fold as if you were gluing the dumpling. In the middle, press lightly with your finger to make a groove. And just fold the two halves over it, but you don't need to press anything. It is necessary to bake for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 190 degrees.
