Shorten life: 3 worst products for longevity

When it comes to longevity, scientists advise paying attention both on the way of life in general and on the diet. For example, if beef, chicken, and dairy are part of your daily diet, it may be time to change it up a bit. As it turned out, these three products can shorten life expectancy.
Scientists of the University of Pennsylvania College of Medicine came to this conclusion. According to the study, the potential danger is that beef, chicken and dairy products contain sulfur-containing amino acids, which, when consumed in large quantities, can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and even lead to death.
In the course of the work, scientists analyzed the health data of more than 120,000 participants and found that those who consumed twice as much “reasonable values” of sulfur-containing amino acids had a 12% increased risk of heart and vascular problems, and a 12% increased risk of early death from of these states – by 28%. They also found that the main part of these amino acids enters the body from beef, chicken and dairy products.
However, dietician Lisa Young noted that the research results do not indicate the complete removal of such products from the diet. “It's important to focus not only on these amino acids, but also on creating healthy dietary patterns in general,” she added. According to Young, research shows that a heart-healthy diet should include more fruits and vegetables, as well as plant-based proteins found in beans and nuts.
