Simple and unexpected factors that help you live longer

There are many options to increase life. Among the ways to help you live longer are simple and affordable, and the results of research on the topic of longevity may even surprise you.
Coffee and longevity
If you drink coffee in moderation, it is good for longevity. Thus, a study by scientists from the University of Southern California (USA) involving more than 180,000 people showed that coffee consumption is associated with a lower risk of death from heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, respiratory and kidney diseases. People who drank a cup of coffee every day were 12% less likely to die during the study period than those who did not drink the drink. Those who drank two to three cups a day were 18% less likely to die.
Overweight and Longevity
In another study, scientists came to a surprising conclusion: young people with a healthy body mass index (BMI) who become overweight later in life but never become obese have more likely to live longer, even compared to those who maintain a normal BMI throughout life.
Gut Microbiome and Longevity
Another study shows that longevity may depend on the mix of bacteria in our gut. As the authors of the paper note, the gut microbiome became increasingly unique as the study participants got older. Certain differences in the composition of bacteria were observed in long-lived people. “For example, it is known that indoles (a product of the vital activity of many “good” bacteria living in the intestines. – ed.) reduce inflammation in the intestines, and chronic inflammation is considered a major factor in the progression of diseases associated with aging,” explains one of the authors research.
