Simple rules that will help you cook beets in just 15 minutes

It seems that cooking beets is simple – just fill with water, wash the vegetable, put it on the stove and wait for it to cook.

This is partly true, but you need to cook it in such a way that the vitamins and nutrients are preserved, otherwise you will get a useless product.

First, if you want to preserve vitamins and other nutrients, then it is not worth cleaning. It is enough to thoroughly wash the beets under water, and the tail and the top, where the tops grew, do not need to be cut off.

Peeled beets are not boiled, but only baked in the oven.

Secondly, to cook the beets properly, they are placed in boiling water.

Therefore, first bring the water to a boil, put the root crop in and cook, covering the pan with a lid for 15-20 minutes.

To get rid of the unpleasant smell, 2-3 minutes after it starts to boil, put a bread crust in the water.

Thirdly, depending on the size and weight of the beets, the vegetable is boiled for 15 to 40 minutes.

After 15 minutes of cooking, the hot water is drained and the root crop is poured with cold water. Thanks to this simple trick, the beets will not only cool quickly, but also be easy to peel.
