Six vitamin plants that can be grown on the windowsill

You can harvest from the windowsill more often , than from the garden bed. You may be joking, but you can grow a green supplement for salads in any season of the year. A pot or container, light and watering are all you need to grow effectively.

Watercress. The plant grows very quickly, so you can harvest often. You can even say that more often than from other types of salads. Grows equally well on sawdust, peat and even cotton wool.

Garlic. To obtain aromatic stems, you need to plant winter varieties in the substrate. If there are sprouted teeth, even better. This way you will get a harvest faster.

Pursula. You can often hear that something like thistle grows in the garden. It is better to plant a varietal from seed. It is tastier, bigger and better than wild. You can harvest in three weeks.

Lettuce. Leaf varieties grow well on the windowsill. Sow fast-ripening ones to have tall and crisp leaves in a month. Salads need additional lighting for 12-14 hours.

Onion. A classic of the genre for a home garden on the windowsill. They are often grown in water, but the roots rot and the capacity emits unpleasant aromas. It is better to plant the bulbs in the substrate.

Spicy herbs. It is impossible not to mention the possibilities of growing dill, parsley, basil. These herbs need additional lighting. You can't do without it, so the organization of the daylight hours should be at least 14 hours.
