Nuts.They are distinguished by an increased content of fiber and healthy fats with a low amount of carbohydrates – this feature requires long-term digestion, which does not allow sugar to be released into the blood immediately in large quantities. A good snack is a small handful of about 40 grams: it can be almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, cashews, pistachios, peanuts.
Cheese. Low-fat varieties – sour milk, ricotta, Mozzarella is high in protein, which is very effective in helping control blood sugar.
Eggs. You can cook a few and keep them in the fridge as a snack that is healthy even on the go.
Yogurt. Greek yogurt is rich in protein – the most important component that helps slow down the release of glucose into the blood due to its long absorption, as well as a very low content of sugar and carbohydrates, which additionally makes it one of the best snacks in the diet of diabetics.
Avocado. If you mash three avocados, add some salsa, cilantro and lime juice, you will get guacamole – a paste from which you can make hearty sandwiches. For example: a piece of whole wheat bread, guacamole, a boiled egg.
