Men need as much as possible consume less sweets, carbonated drinks and sausages. A new study has shown that they increase the risk of bowel cancer.

Different types of sweets such as cookies or eclairs, sodas, sausages, sausages, salami and even sausage increase the risk of developing bowel cancer in men.

We are talking about the so-called ultra-processed foods, which category also includes instant soups, sweet and salty packaged snacks. American researchers studied the data of three long-term observations in which almost 46,000 men and 160,000 women participated. Researchers from Tufts University in Boston assessed the diet of the participants through special questions that were filled out every four years.

It turned out that men who consumed the highest amount of highly processed foods were 29% more likely to develop bowel cancer, compared to those who ate the least. At the same time, no such connection was found among women.

However, when the researchers studied subgroups of foods that underwent deep processing, it was found that when consuming the maximum amount of prepared foods, the risk of bowel cancer in women was 17 % higher than with minimal use.
