Some healthy foods can lower testosterone levels in men

A nutritionist told about useful products that are better to avoid for men with low testosterone levels.

The doctor said in an interview that with low testosterone, men need to limit their consumption of products rich in beta-sitosterol.

Beta-sitosterol reduces the activity of the enzyme that accelerates the reaction of converting testosterone into its biologically active form – dihydrotestosterone.

Clarifying which products contain the “insidious” enzyme, the doctor listed useful in many ways. Here is what was included in the list: buckwheat, white long-grain rice, oats, pearl and rye cereals, peanuts, legumes (beans, beans, lentils, peas).

Also, according to the expert, beta-sitosterol is contained in high doses in cashews, pistachios, walnuts and other nuts, sunflower seeds, avocados, corn.

β€œIt is worth reducing the use of vegetable oils with a high content of this substance – sunflower, olive, corn, linseed, sesame and pumpkin,” the doctor added.

The doctor emphasized that the use of these products should be limited only if the level of testosterone is really low.
